First Day of School

Well, they are off. It was mixed emotions for mom. They were clearly all set with summer, the bickering was increasing, Paige is ready for full day school. But it is awfully quiet around here. Meghan was nervous, she didn't even eat breakfast. Paige was Paige, going with the flow. Don't they look cute in their little dresses?
Paige looks like a big kid now. No more baby face. No backpacks this year. It's all about the messenger bag.
An update on the girls: Paiges's nose looks much better and Meghan's lyme screen came back positive. 21 days of Amoxicillin for Meg.

Paige is 6

Paige had her 6th birthday party on Friday, the 22nd. I can't believe she is 6 already. It has been a busy month for her. She lost her first tooth last week, she turned 6 on Friday, and then yesterday we thought she may have broken her nose so she took a trip to the ER. No x ray was taken but they said treat it like it is broken. It already looks better from last night. Meghan also had an eventful yesterday, she probably has Lyme disease and had to get blood drawn. For those of you who know Meghan well, you feel my pain. She actually did well with it. Anyway, back to Paige's party. Here are some pics of the festivities. I wonder who she wishes that Pinata was. 18 6 and unders with a bat and a Pinata. Not fun.
Here is Meghan and her friend Madi supervising the present opening. Meghan made that shirt she is wearing for Paige's birthday. It says "Happy Birthday Paige" and Meg wore it all day. They really do like each other sometimes.
What is Paige wishing for?? In past years her wish has been to live at Disneyworld forever. Not such a bad wish. This year she wouldn't tell me what her wish was. Mommy was wishing she would stop growing so fast. Stay tuned as the first day of school is tomorrow and more pics will be posted of the festivities, yes, I said festivities. After the girls get on the bus the mommies are going to the Pepper Barn for breakfast. Yum!!

Trip to N.J./PA

These are some pictures from our vacation to N.J./PA. As you can see we went to Sesame Place. The girls had a great time. Meg and Paige enjoyed the water slides. The girls pose with Elmo. Below is a picture of J.T. and Sean Pentland. We camped with their family Jason, Nicole, and the boys. We also spent one day at the beach which was nice. No jelly fish stings this time.
Below is Paige practicing for the LPGA. It was all fun until she swung a little too high and hit poor J.T. in the head. Sorry J.T.
The girls and J.T. often took walks to the playground. Here is Meg on the seesaw.
Hanging out with Jason, Sean, Meghan and Brian. It was a fun five days. Just a warning, if vacationing in this area check your proximity to Fort Dicks. Nothing beats landing trials every five minutes from 9:30 pm to 11:50pm when your middle child is afraid of loud noises.

Fun in the pool

Today we went to Nanna's to say goodbye to Colin, Mel, and Tim. Here are some pics of the cousins enjoying the pool.

Colin and Kaylee shared the pool toys very nicely. Colin did not seem amused by Kaylee at all.

Ladies night

Sorry girls, you made the blog. I had to do it. Every month is girls night and this month we decided to make it a theme. It was prom dress night. As you can see, only 2 of us made it into an actual prom dress, (I am not one of them). The rest of us had to satisfy for old bridesmaid dresses. Sabena (in the frilly pink and white) took the prize for best pick. It was a fun night as usual. Hey, once you hit 30 , what else is there besides food, booze, and reminiscing?

More from Nanna's party

Colin hanging out in the saucer toy. We also enjoyed having Tim and Mel down for the week. We had dinner at Nu Nu's in Colchester on Wednesday night, yummy food. This was an adult only dinner and it was very nice. My girls. School starts Aug. 27th. A great birthday present for daddy. I think boredom is starting to set in, and Meg is looking forward to going back to school. Both girls will be in school all day. Just mommy and Kaylee 8 hours a day . Hmmm..... what will we do?

Cousin John, Uncle Timmy, and Cousin Adam. I remember when I was taller than them. Sorry, I am dating myself. Adam on the far right is Kaylee's godfather. Yes, I know, Kaylee will be baptized at some point. Here are all the cousins: Colin, Kelsey, Paige, Jenna, Meghan, and Kaylee. We enjoyed having Sue, Jenna and Kelsey stay with us. They are very good babies. We wished they lived a little closer. Kaylee looks so big next to them and there is only a 6 month difference.
Here is Nanna and Pop Pop and their family. It was a great day. And yes, Colin is sleeping in the chair. We loved seeing all of our family. We hope we can all get together like that again soon.

Busy Summer

The summer is flying by. Kaylee is sitting up on her own now. Still no attempt at crawling but mommy and daddy are o.k. with that. Meghan and Daddy took a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Shea Stadium. It was Meg's first live baseball game. She even got a pink Mets t shirt. The trip to the Statue of Liberty was a surprise for Meg. She had a great time. And as you can see, daddy was a sucker and Meg got the foam finger. Unfortunately because of fear of the unknown, Paige did not want to take part in the trip to N.Y. She got to hang out with Kaylee and Grandma that day.
The next big event is Nanna's "surprise" birthday party. Lots of family was in for the event. We enjoyed having the company of Auntie Susie, Uncle Marc, Kelsey and Jenna, Adam, John, Russell, and Jamie. I was having blog issues so there will be more pictures to come of the family get together.
Kaylee with Jamie and Russell.
Meghan posing for the camera playing ball with Aunt Melanie and Colin. It was a fun day.
